In university, is it possible to survive on only a tablet/ultrabook convertible?

Everything depends on your needs and for what processes and operation you are going to use your laptop. If you are going to work with large projects that require will be based on managing and running a lot of data you should probably buy a powerful PC. If you are going to use it for skype calls or for doing some homework tasks or for using any tools such as DVD ripping software you can choose a laptop and it will be enough.
