Admissions and Applications

What is the competition at Waterloo for math students applying this year (2020)?

Just to know where I stand and get a better idea, what do you think the competition is like for students applying to top-notch programs at Waterloo like Computer Science (Co-op), Math/BBA (double degree), CS/BBA (double degree), and Mathematics (Co-op)?
Due to the COVID-19 situation, a lot of students were not able to get a lot of extracurricular going in, so do you think that as of right now, marks will be an important role in determining admission more than EC's? Also, online classes seem to be very easy and I think I can pull a 100 in grade 12 Computer Science and maybe a 95+ in every other course. I also took English (4U) in summer school. Do you think this will almost guarantee me admission to the programs listed above? I know you guys are not the admission committee but I would like to hear your guys' opinion on this. Thanks and have a good day!

Lol, bro. You created 100 of the same threads already. Creating more isn't going to increase your chances. Just perform to the best of your abilities and let the cards fall as they may. You can't control the fact that we're in a pandemic and neither can anyone else. Nothing is guaranteed, this isn't a community college with open enrolment. No one but UW will know what the applicant pool looks like so it's impossible to say.

Same as every year. Highly competitive. Covid isn't going to change that.

Covid19 will change the way of online learning for sure in near future, regarding your question about the admission guarantee, yes of course marks are still mater to have admission in any university either online or traditional.

I am a first year student and what I will tell you is that covid won't change the outcome. Yes, maybe more people will get in with classes being online, for example, math faculty and CS took double what they usually do this year. This was stated by one of my former computer science professors. But to lay it out to you, you still need to be on top of your game in high school with marks. They may look at your EC's, actually, they will. They will see what you hav e done before this pandemic started. And they will still evaluate everything else on your AIF. As long as you have a good AIF prior to covid, and have good grades, then do not stress too much.
