What are my chances of admissions for Waterloo Math Co-op or Waterloo CS Co-op?

Hello! I’m currently in Grade 12 and I’m about to apply to Waterloo Computer Science and Math Co-op, Mathematics and Statistics and Computer Science at McMaster, and Computer Science at UofT. I’ve never taken computer science, but I’m taking Grade 11 cs in semester 2 to find out if I like it. Do you think I have good chances of being accepted to any of these programs, particularly at Waterloo? I’m mostly scared because I took ENG4U in summer school, not because I wanted to boost my mark or lessen my workload, but because I really hate english. I’m good at it (I got a 96), but I just really don’t like it. I know that they look at whether or not you took courses outside of regular school because they want to know if you can handle a heavy course load, so now I’m nervous. What do you think a valid reason would be to put on my AIF for why I took it in summer school? – Grade 11 avg – 96% (98 in functions, 97 in advanced functions) – Grade 12 (so far) – 97% and expected to maintain ECs: – president and founder of mental health awareness club – active member of anti-racism council – tutors after school almost everyday I also have a part-time job, which takes up a lot of my time. I’m not sure how I’ll do on the Euclid Contest or Canadian Senior Math Contest, but probably average. Thank you! 🙂

  2. You have a decent chance at getting in, but why are u applying to a program with no prior knowledge about it whatsoever, if you haven’t already i say you should apply to other programs as well unrelated to computer science. Don’t put all your apples in one basket.
