UofT vs Uwaterloo for entrepreneurs?

Hi I’ve been accepted at UofT computer sci and Uwaterloo mechotronics and I absolutely love both of the majors. Since my goal is to start my own tech company I’m interested in a more innovative and entrepreneurial university so I can actually gain usable knowledge and learn by doing. which university do you think is better for me?

  1. You don’t need any formal education to become an entrepreneur, you do realize that, right? Going to school doesn’t teach you to run a company. Why do you think people like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg were college dropouts?

  2. I do realize that I don’t need to go to college to start my own business, but I think it would be better if I had a degree so I could use if I needed to get a job.

    Thanks

  3. If you have an idea UofT has an amazing program which I believe is hosted throughout the summer. It is exclusive to students of the university. They call it the hatchery and it is where you come up with an idea or product which you will then produce a prototype for and if the board seems it worthy they will provide you with funding to further develop your business. Here is a link to the website for further information. I do not know if Waterloo has a similar program. I thought this would be worth noting as you make your decision.
